In ancient times, it was captured to battle for the entertainment of kings. It chooses to fight only the strongest opponents, and honors those that it defeats by wearing a piece of their armor. It is said that its claws are sharper than any sword produced by man.

Alright, shouldn't be that hard to guess the inspiration for this one; the name is a play on "Leonidas", Spartan king and of 300 fame. Took the lion theme, and "midas" like the guy with the golden touch, showing its affinity for gold armor. Plus with coliseum games using tigers and lions sometimes, decided to mix the features up (guess that sorta make it a liger).
