Wooly Worm Pokemon

It's thick coat serves a double purpose; it helps to keep it's body warm in cooler weather, and to irritate the noses of any predators that may attack it. Farmers will actually seek out this pokemon as a means of predicting the oncoming winter, as its black stripes appear larger if a severe frost is on the way.

Wolikrys
Winter Shell Pokemon

HT: 3'10 ft
WT: 55 lbs


Wolicoon forms a cocoon and evolves during the middle of the winter, letting the snowfall help to conceal its paler form. Hanging upside down from trees, it resembles a monstrous face to intimidate attackers. Hikers spooked by this have created tales of floating heads that haunt the forest.

Bug type.
Evolves at lv 20.

Woliklaw
BugBear Pokemon

HT: 6'03
WT: 275 lbs

Despite its fearful appearance, Woliklaw is actually a herbivore, using its massive pincers to down branches from which to eat leaves from. It is, however, very territorial, chasing any intruders that get to close to its "farm". Interestingly, it has a pair of vestigial wings on its back, which are useless in terms of flight.

Bug/Dark type.

As much as I just -love- the idea of researching caterpillars.... It's pretty much a requisite that every region has a couple lines of them.
But yeah, there's enough butterfly pokemon running around, and I've always liked the word "bugbear" but was disappointed to find that they look neither like bug or bear. So took matters into my own hands and made one for the Pokemon world.
Obviously, Wolikoon is based on a wooly bear caterpillar, though the coloration reminded me of a raccoon tail, so I rolled with that. Wolikrys is a corruption of "wooly" and "chrysalis", and Woliklaw needs no explanation.

EDIT 5/21- After suggested by multiple people, decided to go ahead and make Woliklaw a Bug AND Dark type. Think he likes it.
